Now, before I head off into this, I would like to mention that these are demos I have downloaded, in my free time to play when I’ve had shit all to do. I’m just writing reviews so I can enhance my obviously terrible reviewing skills.

Consoles: Xbox 360 and Playstation 3
Developer: Double Fine Productions
Publisher: EA Games
Genre: Action/Adventure
I saw the game play for this approximately 3 months ago, linked to me by a friend. Upon seeing the game play for this game, my immediate thought was, “awesome!” Despite the weird and odd storyline of a band roadie (voiced by Jack Black) who somehow gets thrown back and stuck in the Age of Metal, a land which has rock as the basis of the age’s creation it has an enjoyable feel in the overall game and plenty of humorous, fun bloodshead. The game’s humor is something that made me give a quick giggle at first, however it gets old after awhile when you have the main character, Eddie Riggs (hello Iron Maiden refrence!) throwing in a wise crack every 5 seconds which ten to stay quite childish with a few “fucks” thrown in for naughtiness. The game also gives you the two options of having all the swear words bleeped out and the violence a bit more gentle, which will word great when the kids are over. I played the game demo uncensored so I am not entirely sure if the censored version would have made the dialouge a bit more funnier than it was uncensored. The graphics are really well done, with the environment that’s something you would expect to see on ANY 1980′s – present metal album. The character design is somewhat different and creative than most cartoon influenced games. Besides the funny words and pretty pictures, the camera control is not on your side in most situations, EG fighting the Leviathan in the Druid Plower. It will occasionally not show you where some hiding enemies are, giving you the most super fun happy blind spot of all time. The controls are fun at first but it requires a lot of button mashing in terms of completing a successful and critical move. Despite the finger murdering button combos and the bitch of a camera, the game’s storyline is sure to keep a player interested. I never knew until now, but a metal soundtrack backing the sounds of a sharp metal axe slicing it’s way through Druid/Sexy Demon Nun bones is something that angel’s music is made of. Looking deeper into the game, I also discovered that the game’s characters are voiced by a few well known names in the meatl indsutry such as Judas Preist vocalist Rob Halford, Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne, The Runaway’s Lita Ford and the natorious Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister. For the cherry on top, I recorgnised one voice, Tim Curry which lead me to extreme fangirling.
Overall Summary: A good game for people who like good American comedy and a wicked soundtrack, however if you a prone to extreme frustration and end up rage quitting after half and hour of playtime, play with caution keeping in mind to have a break and DON’T throw it out of the window just yet.
